Reports To: Principal and/or Transportation Director
Job Goal:
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that the student may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Obeys all traffic laws.
- Observes all mandatory safely regulations for school buses.
- Maintains discipline when students are on bus.
- Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority using appropriate school procedures/reporting procedures.
- Keeps assigned bus clean.
- Keep to assigned schedule.
- Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Performs Pre- and Post-trip inspections of the bus.
- Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharges students only at authorized stops.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transports only authorized students.
- Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
- Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Attends staff development training as scheduled.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal and/or superintend may from time to time assign.
Terms of Employment:
180 days a year. Salary to be established by the Board.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
