Title: Curriculum Interventionist
Qualifications: 1. Master’s Degree from accredited college/university
2. Current Mississippi Teaching License
3. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience
4. Proficiency with curriculum software
Reports To: Building Level Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Job Goal: The Curriculum Interventionist (CI) will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning. The CI will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding about research-based effective instruction. In order to meet this purpose, the CI will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers as well as work with teacher on cross curriculum strategies.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Support the Mission and Vision of the Western Line School District
- Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers
- Create a positive relationship with teachers and administrators
- Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance
- Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community
- Observe and evaluate teachers using the MS Teacher Growth Rubric
- Demonstrate willingness to assume leadership positions
- Provide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as needed
- Provide support in analyzing student assessment data
- Assists teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data
- Models lessons when appropriate
- Assist with development of district curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Attend workshops/conferences to learn about new innovative instructional strategies
- Demonstrate knowledge of research-based instructional strategies that engage all students
- Works with teachers to identify appropriate interventions for individual or small groups of students.
- Monitor and adjusts interventions or remediation for individual students based on performance.
- Tracks growth of individual students as reflected in quarterly universal screener (ex. Star Reading, Star Math, IReady, etc.) and in district testing (BMA’s).
- Serves as the MTSS chairperson.
- Trains teachers on the Tier Process
- Hold parent meetings as required.
- Maintains folders and documentations
- Target the school’s lowest 25% for remediation opportunities
- Target the school’s highest 25% for growth opportunities
- Identifies and tracks academic process of English Language Learner Students
- Sets up student Individual Reading Plan (ELL or based on Universal Screener – Tier III)
- Meets with parents/guardians to help them understand the RtI and MTSS program.
- Works with the State Testing Program in the manner laid out by the Principal.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Principal and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Terms of 205 days a year. Salary to be established by the Board based on the Certified Employment Teacher Salary Schedule for the total days worked.
